TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - KALAMBAKA

I Corinthians 12:1-3 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says ‘Let Jesus be cursed!’ and no one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except by the Holy Spirit.

In the morning we depart for Delphi through the village of Arachova, high on Mount Parnassus. Delphi sits nestled in the mountains of Parnassus with an unforgettable view across acres of olive trees as far as the Gulf of Corinth. It was the site of the famous Oracle of Apollo and a city of fame and wealth considered by early Greeks to be the center of the world. The exact age of Delphi is unknown, but it is mentioned by Homer. Proceed along the sacred way to the Athenian Treasury, the theatre, and the Temple of Apollo. Visit the Archaeological Museum where, among other treasures, you will see the famous 5th-century B.C. bronze charioteer.
